Gospel for Newham Thanksgiving

By the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit, we have completed the door-to-door outreach to Newham residents.  The final round of distribution was conducted on Saturday 19 May 2007, a week earlier than projected, thanks to the dedication and relentless commitment of the many wonderful Saints of God who responded to the call of the Lord to partake in this great outreach for Newham.

In all, about 70,000 copies of the soul-winning booklet 'Life' and a periodical newsletter with Christian testimonies called 'Soon', were distributed to households in the borough.  We are outlining a special newsletter with testimonies from some residents who received the materials, as well as the experiences of the many wonderful people who participated in the outreach.  Details of its release will be announced soon.

A special thanksgiving service to bring the curtain down to the outreach is being organised at the House of Faith, Elim Way Church, Plaistow E13 0EH on Saturday 26 May from 2 - 4 pm.  The invitation to this Thanksgiving Service is opened to all Christian leaders in Newham, together with the team from House of Ishmael Ministries (HIM) who organised the outreach, and the Saints from churches across Newham who participated in the door-to-door distribution.

During the Thanksgiving Service, we will unveil the plan for the next stage of the mission to reach out to all residents in Newham with the Good News of Jesus Christ.  This section (the follow-up) will involve us going back and visiting each household to ask them if they received the materials, and to answer any questions they may have concerning the Christian faith, as well as ministering to their needs.  Anyone who could not participate in the door-to-door distribution of the materials but would love to participate in the follow-up section is very much welcomed to attend this Thanksgiving Service.

Finally, we want to extend our warmest gratitude to all, near and afar, who stood with us in prayers during the course of the outreach.  You are truly our partners in the Lord's vineyard, and we can't thank God enough for your lives.  Please continue to bear us in your prayers as we move to the next stage of the mission.  Together, with the help of the Holy Spirit, we can reclaim whatever the enemy has stolen from the church and win this generation for Christ.
